The igo Dental System

Dr. Diana L.
Pediatric Dentist

As a pediatric dentist, using this system has transformed the way my practice interacts with autistic and other special needs patients. The parents have a markedly higher confidence in us and our ability to communicate with their child because we are using essentially the same picture strip system that has been used in their child’s school, only tailor-made for the dental environment. The patients understand much more easily what is expected of them and ultimately, it makes for a relatively smoother appointment. This system is a must have for any dental office wanting to offer their special needs patients a more personalized and comforting dental visit.

Dental Hygienist Instructor/Hygienist

Great books for helping understand the role of a dentist and hygienist. These books would be beneficial for those with special needs and those without. I feel every dental office should have these tools to help children feel comfortable at the dentist.

Special Education Teacher

What a great way to prep children for a dental visit. It is so important to give kids this information ahead of time so that they are prepared and know what to expect. The fact that this book can be personalized is even better for children.

Special Education Teacher

As a former Special Education teacher specializing in students with Autism, I feel you “I Go” books would provide the confidence and encouragement that a child needs to complete these tasks. I love the kid-friendly pictures, vocabulary, and the chance to use the storyboard tabs. These books will provide children with special needs the chance to create these “everyday tasks” positive ones. Congratulations! I am looking forward to seeing these books in children’s hands as well as dental offices across the country!

Nicole M.
Special Education Preschool Teacher

Being a special education preschool teacher and mother of two boys, I appreciate the books that are available to help ease children into new, unfamiliar experiences. “Going to the Dentist” has been an amazing resource for my three year old son to get ready for his first trip to the dentist. He repeatedly asks to read the book with me and enjoys being able to read along using the pictures on the bottom of the page. The ability to individualize the book with pictures of your personal dental office and staff is perfect! Although my child knew the word “dentist” prior to this book, he now knows important vocabulary such as receptionist and hygienist. Introducing the tools in the office as “Mr. Thirsty and Mr. Sunshine” has made our first trip to the dentist a fun and exciting experience.

I think these are awesome! Organized and well done. Kids are more likely to trust the dentist if they can understand why each tool is doing its job. I can also see students with autism using these to communicate with the dentist!
